My name is Tara McFarlane, and I’m a performer, choreographer, and dance educator from Canada, currently completing my Honours Bachelor of Musical Theatre at Sheridan College, where I am a part of the choreography stream. My recent works include being assistant choreography for Legally Blonde (Theatre Sheridan), supporting movement for Seance (Theatre Sheridan) and performances with Theatre Ancaster and the Brott Festival. I strive to build movement that feels immersive and story driven—where emotion and music drive physical expression. I’m passionate about crafting nuanced narratives, creating supportive creative spaces, and bringing imagination to life
The Journey So Far
My journey so far has taken me from competitive dance to the world of musical theatre, where singing, dancing, and acting have become equally important parts of my identity as a performer. At Sheridan College, I’ve had the opportunity to train intensively in all three disciplines, strengthening my vocal technique, expanding my acting range, and refining my dance skills. Along the way, I’ve performed at The Dora Awards, with the Brott Festival’s Jesus Christ Superstar, worked with Theatre Ancaster in The Sound of Music. As well as creating original choreography that blends storytelling and movement, while working under amazing creatives like Kalie Hunter and Margot Greve. These experiences have shaped my artistic voice and deepened my commitment to honest, grounded, and expressive performance.
